The Greater Atlantic City Chamber as a member of the New Jersey Business Coalition, along with dozens of leaders of major business associations, penned two letters this week seeking continued support for recovery efforts.

One letter was sent to Governor Muprhy and the New Jersey Legislature that addressed several important legislative priorities that could provide the relief New Jersey businesses desperately need to drive our economic recovery. With the state budget season beginning, we believe it is imperative there is greater legislative focus on getting immediate support to our state’s ailing business community.

The second letter was sent to the New Jersey Congressional Delegation Members requesting support of several key legislative priorities that could help New Jersey businesses and residents weather the pandemic downturn.  While not an exhaustive list, our requests will make it easier for businesses to reopen safely and rehire workers, which is greatly needed give the state’s November unemplyment rate of 10.2%, the highest in the nation.  Atlantic County’s unemplyment rate is 15.2%.
