Gas prices hit record highs in New Jersey as the average cost of a gallon of unleaded regular climbed to $4.47, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). The average cost of a gallon of regular is up nearly 25 cents from a week ago and nearly 37 cents from a month ago, AAA said. The average cost for a gallon a year ago was $3.02.
