As the Greater Atlantic City Chamber celebrates a century of service to the local business community, we proudly and gratefully reflect upon all the volunteers who have contributed their valuable time and talents to make a meaningful difference.
Each year, one member is designated as the “Volunteer of the Year” based on his or her exceptional dedication and contribution to the Chamber’s mission. This year, the Chamber has selected Charles A. Wimberg, Jr. to be recognized as the “Volunteer of the Year.”
Mr. Wimberg serves as the Regional Vice President for Atlantic City Electric and dedicates his time to the Chamber on behalf of the utility. He serves on the board of directors, the executive committee and co-chairs the Chamber’s advocacy committee.
Beyond his personal commitment to Chamber initiatives, Mr. Wimberg has been instrumental in solidifying support from Atlantic City Electric for important Chamber programs and activities that inform and empower Chamber members and the entire Atlantic County region.
“Charlie epitomizes what volunteerism is all about,” said Victor Nappen, Chairman of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber. “He has been extraordinarily generous with his time, and his leadership has been invaluable to the Chamber in general, and to our advocacy efforts in particular. We are very proud to honor Charlie in this manner, and he is most deserving of this recognition.”
“Reliability and stability are important to business success, and that is what Charlie and Atlantic City Electric provide to the Chamber and to the business community,” added Joseph Kelly, President of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber. “Additionally, as co-Chair of the Chamber’s Business Advocacy Committee, Charlie brings leadership and provides vital counsel.”
