The Chamber hosted a Charity Basketball Fundraiser along with Caesar’s Entertainment and AC Linen to benefit the Atlantic City Day Nursery.

Members of the community gathered at Atlantic City High School to watch teams from the Chamber, Caesar’s, Borgata and Revel. The team from Caesar’s went home with the trophy.  Raffle prizes and food were available to the guests thanks to the generous organizations who donated items to support the cause.

With the support of the community, over $5,000 was raised to benefit the school.

About the Atlantic City Day Nursery:

In 1906, upon returning from Washington D.C. where she attended a convention of the “Mothers of Congress”, Sarah West Leeds founded the Atlantic City Branch of the “Mothers of Congress” for the purpose of providing daily care for the children of “widows and deserted wives.”

108 years later, what is now known as the Atlantic City Day Nursery has existed at three separate locations and served countless Atlantic City families, particularly those working with limited incomes.

While the locations and families have changed over time, the mission of the Atlantic City Day Nursery has never wavered. We exist to promote each child’s social, emotional and cognitive development and support the child’s desire to be a life-long learner. We believe there is no greater endeavor than promoting and protecting the welfare of our children and, by extension, the future of our community.
